Testing Your Body

Since we have gotten a little more familiar with some of the major organs in our body, it is now time for us to explore how our own organs really function. Tomorrow in class we are going to use scientific inquiry and experimentation skills to investigate changes in our body systems. We will test to see if there are changes in our heart rate, breathing and body temperature as a result of physical activity. Individually, you will monitor changes in your body while participating in various activities such as exercising, resting and eating. Then when the experiment has been completed we will compare our findings as a class. This should be a very fun and interesting learning experience, so be ready to take note on how your organs really function. To get a head start, visit this website on the human body and take a look at some of the links under the circulatory system and respiratory system, they should be very helpful.
